Paul Cézanne was born on the 19th
January 1839 and died on the 22nd October
1906.
Paul
Cézanne was a French artist and a
post-Impressionist painter.
Cézanne’s work
laid the foundations of the transition from the 19th
century conception of art to radically diverse world of art
in the 20th century.
Cézanne is known to
be a link between late 19th century Impressionism and the
early 20th century's style of Cubism. His style contributed
to both Matisse and Picasso.
Cézanne's work
encapsulated design, colour, and composition. His work
which used repetitive, sensitive and exploratory
brushstrokes is highly characteristic of his style and
clearly recognisable.
The French Alps spread from Lake Geneva
to the Mediterranean, and can boast the highest mountain
peak in Western Europe, Mont Blanc (15,781
feet).
Courchevel enters its
52nd year as one of France's premier resorts. One of
Cézanne’s historic paintings was the Sainte
Victoire Mountain which is in the French
Alps.
Cézanne is
known to have
loved paining the French Alps and painted
some memorable pieces of
art.
